Nothing much exciting has been going on lately. We are just getting used to our new surroundings and finishing up some unpacking. For the most part we have got everything we need and use frequently done and now there is just boxes of random stuff that was probably in boxes before we even moved.
Mom took some photos of the house with all of our stuff unpacked and those photos will be in the Flickr photos stream on the right.
This weekend we will be heading out to Indianapolis Motor Speedway to see the first Red Bull Indianapolis GP. It’s going to be a bit of a stretch as I don’t have vacation so we will be leaving right after work Friday, driving straight out staying through the Sunday race and then driving right home after the finish. Still well worth it to see Two Wheels, 200mph, and every man for himself live and in person. A blog post and copious amounts of photos will follow.

As I mentioned earlier I got to go to the Pittsburgh Carolina Preseason game. You can check out some of the photos I took on flickr.
The move went pretty much without a hitch on the 29th (ok one $200 hitch). The movers showed up on time at 8am and got thing’s done quick, we where all moved in my 2pm. We got some stuff unloaded but came back to visit a bit with Christine’s sister and Husband who are in town while he is off from Navy school. Saturday we spent cleaning up the old place and Sunday was an all day unpack at our new house. Oh yeah the $200 hitch. Our queen mattress only barely made it up stairs but the box spring didn’t so we where forced to buy a split box spring.
Kevin and Emily came down on Monday and we went to the Titanic Artifact Exhibit and then onto Downtown and Point Park. I’m still waiting for them to reopen the whole park after its renovation. According to the official webstie on the project parts of will remain closed over the next few years while work is done.
Today (the 2nd) after a trip to Oakland for Christine’s job search on our way back we decided to stop on Grandview Ave to take a look around and snap some photos.

In just a short period of time I’m heading out to pick up the keys to our new place. Plus a little bonus Dom offered up his extra ticket for the preseason Steelers game against Carolina.
I think for now I’m going to use Flickr to host some photos for this blog but I’m looking from moving off the free WordPress blog to either a hosted service or setting up my own box at home. Who knows. But that way I can add in some better and more powerful photo management to the blog.
Check back soon for updated photos and updates on the move tomorrow.

I can’t say I discovered this software. I heard about it from the Windows Weekly podcast with Leo Laporte and Paul Thurrott.
IE7Pro: The two best features I have found so far are an improved search bar and basic but effective download manager. Two pieces of Internet Explorer that I believe have not changed since IE 3.0. However these features are basically copies of features that have been included in FireFox since its inception.
For me IE7Pro makes using IE at work a much better experience and closer to the FireFox experience that I prefer at home.

From Dictionary.com
res·ur·rec·tion –noun
| 1. |
the act of rising from the dead |
Such a serous title for what will be a post about moving. However the act of packing all of one’s belongs up and schlepping them to a new perminant location has to be, at least for me, very high on the list of stressful endeavors. But there is a light at the end of that tunnel after dying by the tedium of the whole process we can be reborn in an exciting new environment.
On August 29th Pittsburgh, PA home of the Steelers, Penguins and shamed to say Pirates will also be our home. As well as MEDRAD Inc. my gracious new employer. Christine is busy as a Medical Assistant at Ohio Institute of Pain but already has a few serous leads in the Pittsburgh area. One has virtually offered her a job.
The benefits of moving to a larger city are already apparent to us and our cultural and sporting schedule. The Carnegie Science Center will still be hosting Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition until Labor Day so we made it just in time. Also a friend from Ohio who is a Steelers season ticket holder has hooked us up with tickets for the Steelers vs. Ravens game.
